VEDANTA STUDY
What is Vedanta?
Vedanta is the ancient Indian knowledge that systematically and scientifically expounds the eternal principles of life. These principles enable one to combine dynamic action with mental peace. Thus ushering material prosperity as well as spiritual well being. Furthermore, Vedanta bridges the gap between the known universe and the unknown Reality. It leads one to the ultimate experience of Self-Realisation.
Study Vedanta
Human beings need an intellect to survive. The intellect is the capacity to think independently, reason, judge and decide. Disregarding the development of the intellect one becomes a helpless victim of an impulsive and irrational mind. Choice of actions made by the mind could go wrong and impair one’s life. The intellect alone can guide and control the mind. Intellect is not the same as intelligence. Intelligence is acquired from schools and universities. It provides one the opportunity to improve one's standard of living. All the intelligence acquired offers no relief to the individual when he is stressed and strained, unable to maintain the right relationships, has no work-life balance and cannot cope with the challenges of the world. There has to be an equable balance between intellect and intelligence.
The aim of the study sessions is to understand the concepts of Vedanta in detail so that the individual’s intellect gets established in higher values of life. Intellect develops clarity in thinking and effective self-management. Thus, one achieves productivity in action coupled with peace of mind. Ultimately the study of Vedanta guides one to the state of Enlightenment.
Weekly sessions conducted by Devashni Pillay who has undergone the 3-year residential course at the Vedanta Academy in India. The Academy was established by A. Parthasarathy in 1988 and is focused on the development of the human intellect.
